Online & Remote Working Policy — Carl Argent Counselling and Coaching

1. Security & Platform

I use FaceTime for online sessions. I ensure that my account is password-protected and uses end-to-end encryption where available.

I will not record sessions, and I ask that you do not record them either to preserve confidentiality.

2. Environment & Privacy

• My Space: I conduct sessions from a private space where neither I or you can be overheard. I may use headphones to ensure your voice is not audible to others in my building.
• Your Space: It is your responsibility to ensure you are in a private, quiet location where you will not be disturbed. Please do not take sessions in public places (e.g., cafes) or vehicles where you might be overheard, as this compromises your psychological safety.

3. Technology Failure

• If the connection drops, I will attempt to reconnect immediately.
• If we cannot reconnect within 5 minutes, I will contact you via telephone to either continue the session by phone or reschedule for a later date (without a cancellation fee).

4. Jurisdiction

• My insurance and professional indemnity cover me to work with clients based in the UK. If you are travelling abroad, please inform me, as I may not be legally permitted to conduct a session if you are in certain jurisdictions (e.g., USA/Canada).
